"Ever since I saw a write-up on PROTECT-ALL in Private Pilot magazine some 20 years ago, I have cleaned and waxed my 1954 Taylorcraft 15A with PROTECT-ALL, and I credit it somewhat with the endurance of its fabric.

The 15A is a ‘rag-wing’ which got its CECONITE (Dacron) covering in 1967. And it is a rare bird: Few were ever built, and it is one of four still flying. This is not the T-Craft 2-placer of which well over 1000 exist, but the 145 HP 4-place job. The Ceconite cover has BUTYRATE dope on it, which is sensitive to small cracks and damage, and the PROTECT-ALL keeps it safe and shiny, and the bird doo-doo comes off easier.

It helps that the plane has been in a T-hangar for the last 18 years, but even the mechanic who did the CECONITE recover job in 1967 can’t believe that it still passes the annual Maule (hole puncher) test!
